Hi folks,
I'm planning a fourteen day trip to Spain/Portugal from the middle to the end of January 2020.I'll be using the Ferry to Santander and plan on covering around 2000 miles and taking in some winter sun, it's around 21c at that time of year.

Hi Geoff. I thought your post looked very lonely with no replies so this is just to say 'hello'! I hope your projected trip to Iberia goes well, I must say it's very tempting to get away to somewhere a bit sunny at that time of year but I don't envy your choice of the ferry to Santander in January. That time of year across the Bay of biscay? Take your seasick pills and make sure the bike is well tied down!!
I've only done that journey once, in summer and the sea was dead flat but blimey, talk about boring. Even in Jan I'd be looking at riding through France instead as my preferred option.
