Some advice please, my Alpinestar laminate textile suit appears to no longer want to repel water despite washing and re proofing.
Question it's only 5 years/60k miles old so is this normal for a £500 suit, and more importantly recommendations for laminate replacement
Do I go for Hideout/Rukka or are there good alternatives that will last more than 5 years that offer similar protection etc.
The wife wants to know what to get me for Christmas......

Hmmm, 5 years and 65k miles does not sound like extreme usage. If the waterproofing membrane is Gore-Tex I believe that is usually covered by a 10-year warranty, there may be benefit in persuing that?
As for a replacement suit I would recommend talking to the folk at Motolegends in Guildford. They are very knowledgeable and have some good stuff, from just-about-reasonable to eye-wateringly-expensive!!

Hi Nick, Five years out of a £500 suit is not bad.
Hideout suit is guaranteed for 2 years (?) but cost £2k.
I chose a Dane suit over hideout.
