We run slow riding days for the benefit of all members twice a year and charge a modest entry fee of £5 to cover the provision of biscuits & water and help offset our expenses.
We always endeavour to offer as wide a range of activities as possible, including emergency braking; manoeuvring exercises; the correct way to pick up your bike; a 'swerve' test and the slowest rider race - to win the much coveted 'snail' t-shirt. We will also provide 1-to-1 assistance to address specific issues as required.
Our first Slow Riding Day for 2019 will be held at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre, post code SS15 6EE, on Sunday, 2nd June. If you wish to attend please let me know beforehand by dropping an e-mail to training@eamg.org.uk , to help ensure we have sufficient numbers of Observers (and biscuits) available.
Attendees should arrive by 09:45 for a 10:00 start (likely finish time is about 13:00).
Regards,
John

Re: Slow Riding Day 2nd June
We are all set for Sunday's Slow Riding Day.
I have the water & biscuits. Chris Reed will be bringing his NC700 abs training bike for non abs owning riders to try.
Now we just need the weather (forecast is good at the moment) and a good turnout!

John

Re: Slow Riding Day 2nd June
Thank you to all Observers (Chris, Michel, Phil, Andy, Alan, Jaques, Geoff & Simon) for making yesterday's Slow Riding Day such a success.
We had 14 riders attending including a good mix of Full, Associate & potential new members.
Activities covered included emergency braking, slow control, slalom, peripheral vision, figures of eight, an obstacle course, a swerve manoeuvre and manual handling.
Karine Merritt posted the slowest times in both her heat and the final to win the Slowest Rider Race and the much coveted EAMG 'snail' t-shirt.
Suggestions for additional activities at our next Slow Riding Day on 15th September included counter-steering and picking up a bike. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like included.
Regards,
John
